Oklahoma City police have a suspect in a hit-and-run wreck involving a school bus last week.

No arrest has been made, and charges have not been filed, so police have not released the suspect's name, Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.

The Nov. 27 wreck involved a small school bus taking students to North Highland Elementary and a four-door Chrysler Sebring.

The car ran a stop sign before hitting the bus about 7:40 a.m. at NW 89 and Classen Boulevard, knocking the bus on its side, police said.

The bus driver and three students were injured in the wreck. They were treated at a hospital and released.

The driver of the car, described as a black female carrying a black backpack, ran away after the wreck.

Police said the car's paper tag complicated efforts to trace the driver, but Knight said the detective working the case has a suspect.

The wreck is still being investigated. has disabled the comments for this article.
