An Oklahoma City man fatally shot his estranged wife and their child before turning the gun on himself, police said Wednesday.

Juan De Los Santos, 43, Claudia Aguilar, 35, and Evelyn De Los Santos, 5, died Tuesday in a double-homicide and suicide, police said.

Relatives told police De Los Santos and Aguilar were going through a divorce, Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.

According to the police report, De Los Santos and Aguilar began arguing Tuesday afternoon.

Police responded to a report of shots fired about 6 p.m. Tuesday at 1925 NW 15, Sgt. John Stacy said.

Police found a weapon inside the home.

All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

Evelyn was a kindergartner at Eugene Field Elementary School. The school sent a letter to parents about her death.

The March 14 letter was signed by Principal Paige Bressman, who said the girl died tragically.

“Be prepared for your children to experience a range of emotions, concerns and questions,” it said.

The school is offering counseling services for students. has disabled the comments for this article.
