Lyrik Martin died at OU Medical Center where she was being treated for her injuries.

Oklahoma City police think her injuries are the result of child abuse and are investigating her death as a homicide, Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.

No arrests have been made, Knight said.

The baby's family is devastated, her grandmother, Angela Martin, said Tuesday.

“She was the most amazing, beautiful baby we've ever known,” Angela Martin said.

“We're trying to let the police do their job so they can find out who has done this,” she said. “We need any and everybody to send out prayers and support for our family, but at the same time respect our privacy.”

Police responded to a call about 11:30 p.m. Friday from an apartment in the 4500 block of S Woodward Avenue to check on Lyrik, who was pale and not breathing, the police report states.
