Several downtown streets are closed while Oklahoma City police investigate a suspicious package Tuesday afternoon.

People are being asked to stay out of the area around 131 W Sheridan Ave., police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said.

Police blocked off the area to motorists about noon, and pedestrians are being kept out of the area. Wardlow said she is not sure if a bomb squad will be needed.
