Oklahoma City Public Schools kicked off early enrollment for the 2012-13 school year throughout the district Monday.

“Oklahoma City Public Schools urges parents and guardians to take advantage of enrolling their children during district wide enrollment the week of July 16-20,” district spokeswoman Kathleen Kennedy said. “Taking advantage of enrolling students during the summer allows students to start school on Aug. 1 and be able to focus on academics and learning from the first day.”

The required enrollment information is current address, phone number and proof of residency.

All incoming seventh-graders must have a whooping cough or pertussis vaccine booster before school. Proof is required for enrollment. State law permits medical and personal belief exemptions. A new personal belief exemption must be signed for the pertussis booster requirement.
