Oklahoma City Public Schools Superintendent Karl Springer announced Wednesday the three administrators who will take control of Douglass Mid-High School in the coming weeks. They are:
Barbara Davis started her career with the district as a John Marshall High School teacher in 1980. She has worked as an assistant principal at John Marshall, Webster Middle School, Harding Middle School and most recently Oklahoma Centennial Mid-High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from Prairie View A&M University and a master's degree from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Joyce Henderson was the first principal of Classen School of Advanced Studies when the school opened in 1994. She's also served as the lead for Emerson High School, Northeast High School, Star Spencer High School and Harding Middle School. Henderson will be inducted Thursday into the Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools Wall of Fame. She will serve as a consultant through the end of the fall semester.
Dean of students for seventh and eighth grades
Howard Walker is as an educational technology specialist who trains teachers throughout the district about how to use technology in the classroom. Walker earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Oklahoma City University. He is a graduate of Douglass High School.
