COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Oklahoma City RedHawks pounded out 16 hits Monday night, including three each from Enrique Hernandez and Preston Tucker, during a 10-6 Pacific Coast League baseball victory over Colorado Springs at Security Service Field.
Max Stassi was the only RedHawks who failed to get a hit. Austin Wates, Marc Krauss, Domingo Santana and Matt Duffy added two hits each as Oklahoma City recovered from a 3-0 deficit.
Oklahoma City (45-40) scored seven runs over the third, fourth and fifth innings. A crowd of 2,934 saw Hernandez give Oklahoma City a 7-3 lead with a two-run homer, his eighth overall this season, in the fifth inning. Hernandez, who is batting .337 this season, added two doubles and finished with four RBIs. He has a hit in 17 of his last 19 games.
The Sky Sox (35-49) roughed up RedHawks starting pitcher Rudy Owens for five runs on six hits through 51/3 innings. But Alex White and Jorge De Leon allowed a run on two hits the rest of the way.
The four-game series continues at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday. Right-hander David Martinez (5-5, 4.18) is the scheduled starter for the RedHawks. Colorado Springs will counter with righty Juan Nicasio (1-1, 6.35).
