Nashville pounded out three home runs off Oklahoma City pitcher Ross Seaton in a 6-3 victory in front of 6,423 fans at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark on a windy Saturday night.
Nashville’s Eugenio Velez hit a solo homer with one out in the third ahead of solo homers from Sean Halton and Hector Gomez in the fourth inning for a 5-0 lead.
Halton’s shot — his second of the season — went off the side of the Hampton Inn & Suites behind the ballpark.
The RedHawks (13-10) tried to rally, scoring three runs in the fourth off Sounds starter Brad Mills, but Nashville used four relievers to shut the door.
Mills (2-0) pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on eight hits. He struck out two. Rob Wooten pitched a perfect ninth for his fourth save.
Oklahoma City has now lost two straight to Nashville (11-11).
SEATON STRUGGLES IN DEBUT
Seaton, who was born in Tulsa, was ineffective after a strong first inning in his RedHawks debut.
He opened the second by walking the first three batters. Gomez then drove in the first run with a sacrifice fly and Taylor Green drove in a run with a groundout.
