The RedHawks' matinee Wednesday at Chickasaw Bricktown was a classic example why baseball, a sport with no clock, is unique.

Oklahoma City trailed 6-0 in the bottom of the ninth with two outs and nobody on. Shortstop Jonathan Villar's grand slam capped an improbable six-run rally. The RedHawks won it 7-6 on a throwing error in the 10th that scored Brandon Laird.

Mark Krauss singled to start the ninth-inning rally. Jason Jaramillo's RBI double ended the shutout. Andy Simunic and Che-Hsuan Lin drew walks off Bobby LaFromboise, who surrendered all six runs.

Cody Clark's RBI single made it 6-2, and Villar slammed LaFromboise's first pitch over the center field wall to tie the game. Most of the field trip crowd of 10,186 already had left and missed the rally.

“We've always joked PCL stands for Potential Comeback League,” said RedHawks manager Tony DeFrancesco. “It's never over. I've had leads blown like that before. Give our guys credit. They didn't quit.”

The Rainiers got five shutout innings from James Paxton, one of the Seattle Mariners' top prospects. Nate Tenbrink, who collected four hits, slammed a three-run homer for 4-0 lead in the fourth. Tacoma tacked on solo runs in the seventh and ninth.
