Oklahoma City RedHawks run past New Orleans

— Max Stassi went 4-for-4 with four RBIs, and Jake Buchanan tossed a six-hit shutout as the Oklahoma City RedHawks rolled to a 12-0 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs on Tuesday night.

Buchanan (4-3) had surrendered only seven hits in 142/3 scoreless innings over his previous two starts. Tuesday night, he needed just 97 pitches to complete his second career shutout.

Owasso product Brian Flynn (4-3) allowed seven hits and six runs in three innings for New Orleans.

The RedHawks scored five runs in both the second and fifth innings to run away from the Zephyrs. Gregorio Petit hit a three-run home run to highlight the RedHawks’ offense.

The series continues at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the RedHawks’ Asher Wojciechowski facing New Orleans right-hander Bryan Evans.

Heaney to start Thursday

Former Oklahoma State standout Andrew Heaney, ranked as the top left-handed pitching prospect in baseball by, has been promoted to New Orleans from Double-A Jacksonville and will make his Triple-A debut for the Zephyrs on Thursday night against the RedHawks at Zephyr Field.

Selected by the Marlins with the ninth overall pick in the 2012 draft, Heaney was 4-2 with a 2.35 ERA in nine games with Jacksonville this season. He ranked third in the Southern League with 52 strikeouts.
