After taking an early lead, the RedHawks ultimately ended their seven-game homestand on a sour note with a 10-8 loss.

The New Orleans Zephyrs scored runs in the first five innings to take a 9-7 lead before holding off Oklahoma City on Thursday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Zephyrs took 3 of 4 from the RedHawks, who finished 3-4 on the homestand.

From the beginning Thursday, things looked to be heading south for starter Asher Wojciechowski.

He allowed a two-out home run to Jordany Valdespin in the first inning and then allowed three more runs in the second.

The RedHawks’ offense did what it could to remain in the game by taking a 6-4 lead in the bottom of the second on a three-run triple by Ronny Torreyes and RBI single by Marc Krauss, chasing New Orleans starter Elih Villanueva.

But Kyle Skipworth immediately put the Zephyrs (47-47) back on top for good with a three-run homer in the third.

Wojciechowski (0-2) lasted just 3 2/3 innings and allowed eight runs — five earned — on 11 hits and two walks. Reliever Patrick Urckfitz settled things down, throwing 4 1/3 innings and allowing one run.

Torreyes finished 4 for 5 at the plate with three RBIs, a stolen base and two runs scored.

It continued a tear at the plate one day after going 3 for 3. He finished the series 7 for 11 with four runs and four RBIs.

Krauss also finished with three RBIs for Oklahoma City.
