Oklahoma City settles lawsuit with family of drowned high school student
The city will pay $50,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by the family of a drowned high school cross country runner.
Phillip Jones , 17, was part of a group of Putnam City West High School cross country athletes running along city trails Aug. 22, 2007, when they came upon a flooded portion of the trails just south of the Lake Overholser Dam along the North Canadian River , where the water was about 8 inches deep....
