Oklahoma City shelter gets funds for pet tag study

The city got its first grant Tuesday from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals as part of the group’s Mission Orange Project.

The $20,000 grant will pay for a research project to determine why owners do or don’t tag their pets, whether they leave tags on pets once they are tagged and what incentives might be needed to encourage owners to tag pets.
