Steven Adams has been the cause of five incidents this season that have resulted in either an ejection or suspension, or both, for his opponent.
Here is a quick look at all five:
Date: Oct. 15, 2013 (preseason)
Result: Ejected and $10,000 fine
Explanation: After setting a bruising screen on Robinson, Adams fired toward the lane for a potential offensive rebound. But as he crashed the boards, a steaming Robinson, peeved at the physical preseason pick, beelined toward Adams and gave him a quick shove. Adams didn’t react, instead turning and heading upcourt. So an angry Robinson tried to get his point across again, punching Adams in the stomach.
Date: Nov. 6, 2013
Result: Ejected and suspended for the next game
Explanation: Because of Adams’ reaction, this may be the most memorable of them all. After grabbing an offensive rebound, Adams smoked Carter with an inadverant elbow. Carter took a brief look at the ref, who didn’t call the offensive foul, then took matters into his own hands, bursting toward Adams and delivering a flying elbow to the side of the head. Stone Cold just jogged back up the court with that stoic, robotic look.
