Small forward Caron Butler cleared waivers on Saturday at 4 p.m. By 6 p.m., his deal with the Thunder was official.

"Headed to OKC truly blessed..." Butler tweeted.

It's not yet clear whether Butler will be available for OKC's Sunday game against the Bobcats.

Caron's a guy that we feel can certainly add depth to our team,” said Thunder general manager Sam Presti. “He brings a physicality on the defensive end and a resilience as a competitor that we feel like will complement the group that's in place. He is a guy that we feel like provides flexibility to different lineups, and he's a little bit of a unique addition in comparison to the group that we have in place, which we think is only going to further the flexibility of the team depending in different matchups.

“He also gives us another guy that can knock down shots, as well as add to the overall depth that's going to be so important to our team as we play meaningful games in the spring.”
