Oklahoma City Thunder: Kevin Durant & the Beatles

by Berry Tramel Published: May 13, 2013

We’ve written extensively about Kevin Durant going into Game 4 of the OKC-Memphis series. I wrote a column about Durant needing more shots, which you can read here, and Mayberry RFD wrote an analysis of Durant needing to do more even though he’s doing a ton. You can read that here.

One of our readers responded with a fabulous parody. Bill Tolbert took the classic Beatles’ song “Help!” and rewrote the lyrics. It was so good, I thought I would share it with you. If you don’t know the tune, you’re sort of out of luck. But if you know the song, sing these words to it. They will come naturally.

“Help!  KD needs somebody.

“Help!  He’ll take anybody.

“Help!  You know he needs someone to, Heeeeeelp!

“When we had Westbrook, seems like only yesterday,

“Could count on him, to do his job, each and every play.

“Now Russ is gone, and the fans feel insecure.

“Should we pass, should we shoot, KD can’t be sure.

“KD needs team help, don’t let him down.

“And, he still appreciates guys hanging round.

“But, help him pick this team up off the ground.

“Won’t you please, please help KD?  Help KD? Help KD!?!”

My favorite line: When we had Westbrook, seems like only yesterday.

Great stuff. I’ve got the best readers in the world.
