With 6:43 remaining in the fourth quarter of Thursday's game at San Antonio, forward Kevin Durant made a fast break layup in traffic.

It put the reigning three-time scoring champion over 10,000 career points.

Durant became the second youngest player (24 years, 34 days old) in NBA history to reach the milestone. LeBron James was the youngest player to hit the 10,000-point plateau at 23 years, 59 days old.

Durant also became the 15th fastest player to reach the mark based on games played. Durant played his 381st game Thursday night.

Durant entered the game needing 22 points to hit the mark but finished with 23 points, giving him 10,001 points for his career.
