At halftime, the Thunder had just 38 points, two more than its season low, and was shooting just 34.2 percent.

“Both teams played extremely hard and physical and you can tell,” said Thunder coach Scott Brooks. “It was hard to get baskets. It was hard to get in your offense. But I love the fact that our guys battled.”

OKC scored a mere 15 points in the opening period, setting a season low for points in the first quarter. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined to go 1-for-11 for four points in the first frame and were just 6-for-20 at halftime.

The Thunder went 2-for-18 from 3-point range and had a season-low nine assists on the night.

“I knew when we were not making shots early in the game we would keep fighting and playing aggressive and give ourselves a chance to win,” Brooks said. “That's what we've done for a lot of years now. And that's not going to change.

“After our bad 3-point shooting (Tuesday) night I didn't think we'd go 2-for-18, because we're nearly at 40 percent for the year. So that means we've got some good games coming up.”
