Point guard Reggie Jackson and center Kendrick Perkins participated in the majority of Wednesday’s practice and are very close to rejoining the lineup.

Jackson, who missed the last two games with a mid-back sprain, is expected back either Thursday against San Antonio or Friday at Houston. Perkins, who has missed 17 straight games with a groin injury, could be back by the end of the week.

Guard Thabo Sefolosha (calf) is the furthest from a return. He only warmed up with the team at the beginning of practice but didn’t go through any other portion of the session.

BUTLER EXPLAINS 3-POINT SHOOTING

Caron Butler is averaging 5.6 3-pointers in 13 games with the Thunder.

It’s the most 3s he’s averaged in his career.

Butler, however, said he’s become comfortable from that distance and credited multiple trips to the gym each day for his success. He says he understands now where his shots are going to come from and isn’t hesitating on letting them fly.

Butler is shooting 39.7 percent from 3-point range, the second-highest clip of his career. He said he became a more confident shooter his first year in Dallas, where he worked often with coach Rick Carlisle on improving his touch.

“Now I don’t think about it. It’s just a natural instinct, just take the shot,” Butler said. “Before, it was more of a hesitation thing or do it in rhythm, with a dribble or something. But I’m comfortable with shooting that shot now.”
