Stoudemire to OKC?
With rumors that Amare Stoudemire is on the trading block, ESPN broke down nine potential trades. One was the Thunder sending Jeff Green, Joe Smith and Desmond Mason to the Suns for Stoudemire, a free agent after the 2009-10 season.

Chad Ford wrote: "The potential core of Stoudemire, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook would be, in a word, awesome.”

It doesn’t add up. Oklahoma City general manager Sam Presti constantly says he’s building for the long term. Stoudemire will earn $16.4 million next season. Presti only makes this deal if he’s convinced he can re-sign Stoudemire in 2010.

Another issue is Chris Wilcox probably would be involved, not Mason, because of Mason’s injury.

Durant climbing charts
Durant has scored 25 or more points in all but five of the Thunder’s 29 games the past two months, averaging 27.7 points since Dec. 6. Durant has scored 30 or more points a dozen times this season.

For the season, Durant is averaging 25.2 points. He ranks sixth in the league, but is rapidly closing in on Danny Granger (25.4) and Dirk Nowitzki (25.
