Grizzlies coach Dave Joerger on Thunder guard Kevin Durant’s performance: “He ate first tonight. Sometimes, he tries to get other people involved. I thought he was very assertive early in the game.”

Durant: “I just told myself, ‘I don’t care if they go in or not. Just play extremely hard on the defensive end.’ Inspire my teammates on the defensive end; that’s all I tried to do. The offense is going to come.”

Thunder guard Caron Butler: “We’re going to home. Game 7 in our building. That’s what you fight for — home-court advantage. We got home court back. We gotta go finish this thing off.”

Grizzlies center Marc Gasol: “We know we’re going to take a couple punches in the chin going out there. We can’t go down. We’re not going to go down.”

Thunder coach Scott Brooks: “We knew we were playing in a tough place to play against a very good team. But to give ourselves a chance, we had to compete that way on the defensive end. And we knew sooner or later some of our shots would fall.”

Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook: “I thought we did a great job of just being calm. A great job of just coming in and just being cool, calm and collected as a unit, and it showed for 48 minutes.”

Joerger: “I don’t know that there was a lot of Xs and Os tonight. I really don’t. I think that they just came and played with a lot more force. They were very aggressive.”
