"I've been thinking this whole summer that we have to start off well to become a playoff team," Durant said Tuesday at his basketball camp. "Anything less than the playoffs is a failure for us."

After getting off to one of the worst starts in NBA history (3-29), Oklahoma City finished 20-30 over its final 50 games.

Highlighted by two wins over San Antonio and wins over playoff teams like Dallas, Utah, Portland, Chicago and Detroit, the Thunder was 7-7 in January, 7-8 in March.

"(Making the playoffs) is a realistic goal for us," Durant said. "We have the talent. We were better towards the end of the season last year. Anything less than the playoffs is a failure."

Other than Blake Griffin, anybody else taken in this year's NBA draft is mostly a crapshoot. It's easy to criticize now, but know that somebody would gripe no matter who the Thunder drafted.

I've been impressed with Sam Presti so far. He's made good decisions in the development of the Thunder, and I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt of who he can pick up in free agency or trade options. I definitely hold his perspective much higher than the opinions of anybody posting on here.

Let me explain. Last season, the Thunder won 23 games. Then, we won #3 in the lottery. As Berry Tramel said, there are better choices to make, and I said the other picks would fit as well, but the Thunder picked Harden, a talented role player, but a role player. That, and what I heard about trading/free agency, it is a stretch making it to the playoffs. I hope I am wrong, but that's how I see it.

I don't understand anything you mean in that response. What about the player drafted #3? You mean Harden? What about him? What does he have to do with OKC and the playoffs?

I want you to make the playoffs, too! But the player drafted #3 and from what I hear about trading/free agency, making the playoffs seems a stretch, if that. I hope I am wrong.
