Oklahoma City to keep spraygrounds open longer

BY THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Published: August 28, 2014

Kids, rejoice: The spraygrounds in Oklahoma City will stay open for another month.

Typically, the outdoor play areas with sprinklers close on Labor Day, but Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation officials said Thursday that they’ll remain open longer because of hot temperatures in the forecast.

The city says the spraygrounds will remain open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Sept. 28.

The city offers 16 spraygrounds that are open to the public.
