A traffic stop Sunday ended with the discovery of nearly 500 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $750,000 and two arrests, authorities said.
Members of the Central Oklahoma Metro Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop about 4 p.m. Sunday on SW 25 near S May Avenue when the driver of a pickup was seen driving at a high rate of speed, according to an Oklahoma County sheriff's news release.
“When approached, both the driver and the passenger produced fake Mexican driver's licenses,” Sheriff John Whetsel said in a statement.
Several cardboard boxes wrapped in tape were in plain sight in the backseat and bed of the pickup.
