Oklahoma City traffic stop results in discovery of nearly 500 pounds of marijuana

Two men who produced fake Mexican driver's licenses during a traffic stop Sunday were arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County jail after almost 500 pounds of marijuana was found in their vehicle, authorities said.

A police dog was called to search the pickup alerted his handler that there were drugs in the vehicle, the news release states.

“There were a total of six boxes containing 369 packages of marijuana that weighed a total of 492 pounds,” Whetsel said.

Authorities arrested Cruz Rodriguez, 20, and Jose Pena, 17, and booked each into the county jail on a complaint of trafficking a controlled dangerous substance.

The bail for Rodriguez and Pena was set at $25,000 each.
