An Oklahoma City woman was arrested after her “volatile” relationship with her boyfriend erupted, police said.
Kristy Gibson, 38, was arrested on a domestic abuse complaint after police responded to an assault call about 5:55 p.m. Monday in the 1900 block of Heritage Park Drive, according to an incident report released Thursday.
Police found a man bleeding from his left hand. The man told the officer he had been stabbed by his girlfriend.
Gibson told police she and the man had been drinking and he cut himself.
The man told police he and Gibson were in the kitchen and she was cooking. The two got into argument and she grabbed a knife and swung it toward him, he told police.
The man put his hands up to defend himself and got cut. He was able to get the knife from Gibson and hid it, according to the incident report.
When he realized how badly he was cut, he went outside the apartment and told a neighbor, “Call the police. Kristy stabbed me,” according to the report.
The neighbor told police the relationship was “volatile” and Gibson's boyfriend had “beat the hell out of her” before.
Emergency Management Services Authority paramedics said the cut was deep and appeared to cut “to the bone.”
Gibson was taken to the Oklahoma County jail and was released Thursday.
