An Oklahoma City woman was in jail Friday morning after her boyfriend told police she stabbed him in the chest.

Police responded at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a stabbing in the 800 block of Village South Drive. The boyfriend, whose name was not released, told police he had let Martel Rena Lambert, 48, use his truck Tuesday evening. When she was away longer than he expected, the boyfriend asked a neighbor if he knew where she went, the man told police.

While the man was speaking with the neighbor, Lambert showed up, irate because the boyfriend had asked the neighbor about her, he told police. Lambert went into her apartment, came back with something in her hand and began striking the boyfriend with it.

After the neighbor separated the two, the boyfriend realized he had been stabbed and drove himself to Southwest Medical Center.

Lambert was arrested on a complaint of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. She was being held in Oklahoma County jail Friday on $5,000 bail.
