An Oklahoma City woman was arrested Friday on a child abuse complaint after a police officer witnessed her tossing her small child into a trash can, according to a police report.

Police responded to a possible burglary on Creekwood Drive and found Dana Lynn Edwards, 30, holding a small child and banging on the door of a residence, demanding her child back.

An officer then saw Edwards drop the child in the trash can next to the home, according to a police report released Monday.

Officers noticed Edwards was acting strangely, and they smelled a strong odor of PCP on her as they placed her in a patrol car, according to the police report.

A witness told police Edwards has one other child, but police were unable to account for the child Monday afternoon.

The child dropped into the trash can was taken into custody by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services returned to his father with no apparent injuries.

Edwards was released on a $10,500 bond and was no longer in custody Monday afternoon, jail officials said.
