Mulkey: “I'll be glad to answer any referee question you want to ask me, because I don't mind getting fined, so ask me.”

An irate Kim Mulkey ran along the sideline, began to remove her green jacket and had to be physically restrained by her assistant coaches with 16.7 seconds left Sunday in Baylor's 82-81 shocking regional semifinal loss to Louisville.

With the Bears trailing by a point, guard Odyssey Sims drove into the paint and was called for charging, sending Mulkey into her fit of rage.

In her postgame news conference, a much more composed Mulkey urged reporters to ask her about officials Melissa Barlow, Laura Morris and Frank Steratore.

“I'll be glad to answer any referee question you want to ask me, because I don't mind getting fined, so ask me,” Mulkey said. “Now is the time to ask me, OK?”

“I thought the game started out way too physical, way too physical,” Mulkey said. “I thought that all three of them, if they go past this round of officiating, it will be sad for the game.”

Mulkey went on to criticize the charging call on Sims, plus a shooting foul called on senior center Brittney Griner with under five seconds remaining.

By that point, Baylor had taken a one-point lead — completing an incredible comeback; Baylor trailed by as many as 19 points in the second half — before Louisville's Monique Reid drove into the paint and drew the foul.
