The 6,900-yard, par-72 championship golf course was designed by Don January and Billy Martindale. A meandering creek “comes into play 17 out of the 18 holes, a definite challenge for the best golfers,” the club said on its website.
Apparently, efforts were made in recent years to improve the property and make it more attractive — at a time when country clubs across the nation have been losing membership.
“Our club is extremely excited about the major improvements to our Fitness Center. These capital improvements are for the current members and prospective members of the club. We want you to come and enjoy all the activities for your health and happiness,” according to the website.
Contents and other sale items will include tractors and turf care equipment, commercial kitchen equipment and appliances, and furniture. Inspection will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 31.
The country club is at 2101 Westbury Terrace. The auction will be at Louis Dakil Auctioneers, 200 NW 114, and online.
