A petition containing more than 800 signatures supporting two protesters who face terrorism hoax charges in connection with a December protest at the Devon Energy Center were delivered to Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater's office Friday.
The petition and eight letters were delivered on behalf of Moriah Stephenson, 27, of Oklahoma City, and Stefan Warner, 26, of Harrah. Both face terrorism hoax, trespassing and disorderly conduct charges stemming from a Dec. 13 demonstration in which banners were unfurled and black glitter was spread on the floor of the lobby of the office tower.
Cory Mathis, 23, of Austin, Texas, and Caroline McNally, 22, of Simi Valley, Calif., were also arrested on trespassing and disorderly conduct complaints, but seven other protesters were released.
No charges have been filed against the protesters in Oklahoma County District Court, but Stephenson and Warner were issued citations for disorderly contact and trespassing in Oklahoma City municipal court, records show.
Mathis and McNally were also issued citations for trespassing, according to municipal court records.
