Oklahoma County DUI checkpoint, added patrols net 17 arrests

Oklahoma County sheriff's deputies made 17 arrests overnight Saturday during a DUI checkpoint and saturation patrols.

Oklahoma County sheriff's deputies made 17 arrests overnight Saturday during a DUI checkpoint and saturation patrols.

Of those arrests, six were on complaints of DUI and five people were driving with suspended licenses. Drug possession, warrants and an assault and battery on an officer rounded out the arrests, according to a news release.

During the operation, 81 citations were issued along with 15 warnings. A total of 931 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, and 42 vehicles were impounded.

The checkpoint, which was in the 300 block of N Meridian Avenue, began Saturday night and ended early Sunday.
