An Oklahoma County juvenile detention officer was stripped of his badge after photographs of a stripper wearing the badge surfaced on social media.
Nicholas A. Paulk, a transportation and security officer for the Oklahoma County Juvenile Bureau, admitted to taking the photographs while on call for the bureau, Director James Saffle said.
Paulk resigned Thursday.
One of the photographs shows the badge between a woman's breasts, clipped to a brassiere. A second photograph shows the badge — with emblem and number prominently displayed — attached to a pair of panties.
The photos were reportedly taken at the Double D Saloon, 8029 SW 3. An Oklahoma City police officer's wife saw them on Facebook and reported them to her husband, who in turn reported them to the sheriff's office.
Saffle said he was contacted by the internal affairs division of the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department on Sept. 20. The date of the photographs was not known.
Paulk was hired in September 2012 and was assigned to his current duties, for which he was issued a badge, in July.
“We're expected to be more honorable than that, especially if you're given a badge,” Saffle said.
“I have no tolerance for this kind of behavior, and when you're a public servant ... whether you're at work or at home, these decisions reflect upon you.”
Saffle added: “I wish it had never happened. I think it's a young man making a very poor decision and using poor judgment. But you can't sweep something like this under the rug.”
Paulk could not be reached for comment Friday.
