On the eve of a preliminary hearing for a Blanchard man accused of killing his wife and her unborn child, Oklahoma County prosecutors reduced the criminal charges.

The reduction in charges came an hour before Tulsa County authorities arrested another man long suspected to be involved in her murder.

Prosecutors reduced first-degree murder charges to first-degree manslaughter against Justin Dewayne Adams on Tuesday, more than two months after District Attorney David Prater said “charges will be amended to reflect the level of his suspected culpability.”

Adams, 26, had been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the death of Jaymie Adams, 25, and her unborn child. Her body was found Jan. 7, 2012, at a dirt bike track in southeast Oklahoma City.

Tuesday night, Joseph Cyr, 31 of Skiatook, was arrested on a first-degree murder complaint in Jaymie Adams' death, according to Tulsa County jail records.

Prosecutors, in the latest charges, allege Adams “aided and abetted Jaymie Adams in engaging in acts of prostitution,” participating in criminal conduct “that resulted in the death of Jaymie Adams.”

“I am letting any willing man come and have his way with my wife with a little compensation for us to help with our holiday funding we need,” Adams said in an online ad that prosecutors included in court documents filed Tuesday.
