OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — An Oklahoma court has rejected the appeal of a 48-year-old woman serving a life prison sentence in the death of her husband.

A jury in Mayes County convicted Wendy Michelle Cobb of first-degree murder in the April 28, 2009, death of Michael Cobb. Her conviction and sentence was affirmed on Monday by the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.

The victim was beaten and dragged inside his home, which was set on fire. The Cobbs were getting a divorce when the crime occurred

Wendy Cobbs' ex-boyfriend, 27-year-old Nicholas Shires, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the case as was sentenced to 22 years in prison in an agreement with prosecutors in which he testified against her.

Wendy Cobbs' attorney, Lee Ann Jones Peters, did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
