The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has rejected an appeal from a Cotton County man who pleaded guilty to killing his father and wounding his brother at Walters.
The court on Thursday upheld a lower court's ruling that Daryl Marion Daniel could not withdraw his guilty plea.
Daniel was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty in May 2009 to second-degree murder and shooting with intent to kill.
Daniel sought to withdraw the plea less than a month later — but has been turned down by a Cotton County district judge.
The appeals court rejected Daniel's arguments that he received ineffective counsel and that the District Court did not properly establish that he was competent to plead guilty.
