Man faces murder charge

in shooting at apartments

A man who talked about “pulling a lick” on an Oklahoma City man was charged Thursday with first-degree murder. Michael Lee Smith, 27, discussed in a phone conversation with an acquaintance the night before the fatal shooting of Suave Dival Stacker, according to a police affidavit attached to the murder charge filed in Oklahoma County District Court. Smith told the acquaintance he was going to go to Stacker's apartment and pretend he wanted to buy drugs. Stacker, 25, was shot about 11 a.m. Aug. 15 in the breezeway at the Hillcrest Green Apartments, 3209 SW 74. Gang investigators tracked down Smith and arrested him Aug. 20. He was driving a car that was reported stolen earlier that day. Smith is being held without bail in the Oklahoma County jail.


Shooting death prompts charges against pair

First-degree murder charges were filed Thursday against two men in the slaying of a man in west Oklahoma City. Christopher Sean Marlowe and Cory A. Foster, both 20, are charged in the Aug. 19 slaying of George E. Larkin. Witnesses said the shooting occurred during a fight at the Wes-Chase Apartments, 5509 NW 23. An altercation developed between Marlowe and Larkin, 20, of Oklahoma City, according to a police affidavit filed with the charges. Witnesses told police Marlowe pulled a .40-caliber pistol from his pants pocket and shot Larkin once in the shoulder. Both Marlowe and Foster are being held without bail in the Oklahoma County jail. They also were charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and possessing a firearm.


Man accused of injuring federal drug agents

A Tecumseh man was charged Thursday with trying to injure four federal drug agents with the vehicle he was driving. Charles E. Armstrong, 22, was charged with four counts of assault with a deadly weapon. Agents with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency were talking Aug. 20 with the driver of a vehicle near the Sunset Inn and Suites, 8315 S Interstate 35 Service Road, when Armstrong, a passenger in the vehicle, got behind the steering wheel and took off, according to information filed in Oklahoma County District Court. Armstrong is accused of deliberately driving the vehicle into one agent and dragging him 22 feet. Another agent tried to grab Armstrong from the vehicle when Armstrong accelerated, causing the agent to be dragged along the side of the vehicle for about 71 feet before breaking free. Armstrong eluded several law officers' vehicles and is accused of deliberately smashing into two drug agents' vehicles. He eventually ditched the vehicle and fled, but was arrested by agents and Oklahoma County sheriff's deputies. Armstrong is being held in the county jail on $125,000 bail.
