Man faces accusations of attacking officer

An Oklahoma City man was arrested Wednesday after rushing and attacking an officer outside of a convenience store.

Keith Arnell Conley, 30, reportedly was on his way to assault an employee at the 7-Eleven located at 7928 N May Ave. when the officer informed Conley to get on the ground of the store's parking lot. Conley ignored the officer and attempted to enter the store, only to find the door locked.

Conley charged the officer, who peppered sprayed him, and the two struggled over the officer's gun and exchanged punches, according to a police report. Conley then rushed to the business's door again and banged on the windows until the officer hit his leg with a baton and handcuffed him.

Conley was being held Thursday without bail at the Oklahoma County jail.

Father accused of locking out daughter, 12

Bartholomew Labaren Gerrad, 42, of Oklahoma City, locked his thinly clothed 12-year-old daughter on the front porch on Christmas. Officers arrived Christmas morning to find the girl, her small dog, and her luggage outside of the residence at an apartment complex on the 1500 block of Heyman Street, said police reports.
