Couple found burned in front of home

— A Le Flore County couple were found lying unconscious and their bodies burned in the front yard of their residence, Sheriff Rob Seale said Tuesday. Seale declined to release their names, citing pending criminal investigation. The couple remain hospitalized at the Hillcrest Medical Center's burn unit, he said. Firefighters were called to the rural area of Stony Point about 8:30 p.m. Monday, Seale said. He said the woman is in critical condition and the man is in serious condition. Officials haven't determined what started the fire.

Man dies after being involved in fight

— A Muskogee man died after he was involved in a fight, according to Muskogee police. John Wier, 47, was found unresponsive about 11 p.m. Sunday in a parking lot at Club Estates apartments and died at the hospital, according to a police news release. Wier had been fighting with another person when he collapsed and stopped breathing, police report. The body was sent to the medical examiner's office to determine the cause of death.
