OKLAHOMA CITY

Lab worker faces felony charges

A former lab worker accused of falsifying the urine samples of Oklahoma County drug court participants was charged Friday with multiple felonies, court papers show. John Adam Barfield, 24, of Newalla, is facing 14 counts of false preparation of exhibits as evidence and six counts of violating the state's computer crimes act. Barfield is accused of fixing drug tests for money between Dec. 1 and Jan. 29 and using his cellphone to facilitate the transactions, according to prosecutors and court documents. Barfield falsified records to show clean urine samples when no urinalysis was actually done, and was paid $1,200 by a participant, investigators reported.
