Drug raids net six arrests

Authorities confiscated illegal drugs, firearms and cash Tuesday from houses in Oklahoma City and Edmond, Oklahoma City police said. Police received a tip that drugs were being stored at 4260 NW 156 in Oklahoma City and 309 Brighton Drive in Edmond. The FBI and Edmond police assisted Oklahoma City police with the warrant searches, Master Sgt. Gary Knight said. Police confiscated 100 pounds of hydroponic marijuana, two pounds of illegal mushrooms, firearms and $50,000 in cash from the houses, Knight said. The value of the drugs was estimated at $700,000. Arrested were David Twichell, 24, Adam Seely, 28, Emily Mitchell, 28, Konstantin Khandros, 36, Robert Mitchell, 29, and John Salazar, 37. They were taken to the Oklahoma County jail.

Man accused in sex abuse case

A man arrested at a homeless shelter claims he just was “teaching sex education” to a boy, Oklahoma City police said. Valente Gilberto Harris, 30, was arrested Tuesday at the City Rescue Mission, 800 W California Ave., on two complaints of lewd acts with a child. Police went to the shelter about 4:15 p.m. after the victim's mother reported her 8-year-old son was being sexually molested, according to the incident report. The boy told his mother Harris made him get into bed with him and touched the boy inappropriately, according to the report. The mother told police it was the first she heard about it, but the boy told her it had happened several times. She and her children have been staying at the shelter for five months, police said. According to the report, Harris told police, “Man, the only thing I'm guilty of is teaching sex education. I just taught him about sex.” He was taken to the Oklahoma County jail. His bail was set at $30,000.
