A man accused of spanking twin 3-year-old boys left in his care is facing misdemeanor assault and battery charges, court papers show. Joshua Phillip Paquette, 25, of Midwest City, was charged Tuesday in Oklahoma County District Court. His girlfriend, the children's mother, discovered bruising on their buttocks when she changed their diapers the morning after leaving them with Paquette, police reported in a probable cause affidavit. Paquette told police he was baby-sitting the twins while their mother went out for the night. He was arrested March 9, after he said he got angry and spanked the boys for climbing on a kitchen counter and getting into the cabinets, police reported.
