Drugs lead to 2 arrests
A man and a woman have been arrested on illegal drug complaints at a house near Cushing Memorial Park, law officers report Thursday. Allen Lee Harmon, 54, and Rita Faye Harmon, 56, were arrested following an investigation into methamphetamine manufacturing in the house in the 800 block of E Third Street, Cushing police reported. The investigation started in August, police report. Assisting police were law officers from the Payne County Sheriff's Department and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control. Police seized numerous items related to the manufacturing of methamphetamine in the detached garage and trash bin, as well as drug paraphernalia and a white powdery substance from the residence, according to the news release. Allen and Rita Harmon were booked into the Payne County jail on complaints of endeavoring to manufacture methamphetamine within 2,000 feet of a park, possession of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a park and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $50,000 for Allen Harmon and at $30,000 for Rita Harmon.
