A group of Oklahoma officials is headed north of the border next week for the Global Petroleum Show in Canada.

Gov. Mary Fallin will lead the state delegation, which includes Energy Secretary Mike Ming and officials with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.

Eight Oklahoma oil and natural gas companies also will take part in the three-day trade show, which begins Tuesday in Calgary. They will have exhibits in the state's booth.

Fallin is scheduled to speak during the show's International Energy Leaders Forum on Wednesday.

She will detail the business opportunities available in Oklahoma for an audience of international industry executives and energy ministers.

“Like Canada, energy already plays an enormous role in Oklahoma's economy,” Fallin said.

“More than 300,000 Oklahoma jobs are supported by the oil and gas industry, which leads to more than $14 billion in yearly impact to our economy.

“Oklahoma has always been a leader in the energy field, and we intend to keep it that way.”

8 state companies

The Oklahoma companies that will show their wares at trade show are Double Life and Pro-Formance Manufacturing, from Oklahoma City; Everest Sciences, Pipeline Equipment and Kline Tools, from Tulsa; Continental Wire, from Jenks; King Oil Tools, from Enid; and TechTrol, from Pawnee.
