It was just another win for Hall of Fame jockey Kent Desormeaux.

Riding 3-year-old thoroughbred Politicallycorrect to victory at Sunday's Oklahoma Derby, the marquee event of the Remington Park thoroughbred season, Desormeaux won $240,000 of the $400,000 purse.

The earnings go to owners Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey, who won this event for a second time in three years. The reward falls to trainer Wesley Ward, who's hard work produced the biggest win of Politicallycorrect's young career.

But for Desormeaux, besides some brief credit and congratulations (and about 10 percent compensation), it's just another day at the office.

It was his 35th win of the season, the 5,469th victory of his illustrious career.

“This horse had been training so good,” Desormeaux said. “I just couldn't wait to get him here.”

Desormeaux, who was elected into the National Racing Hall of Fame in 2004, has the record for most wins in season (598 in 1989) and has won the Kentucky Derby three times.

In 1998, Desormeaux nearly won the coveted Triple Crown, riding Real Quiet to Kentucky Derby and Preakness wins before losing to Victory Gallop by a nose in the Belmont Stakes.
