Oklahoma City district plans meetings

Oklahoma City School District Superintendent Karl Springer will continue his series of town hall meetings during the spring semester. Springer and other officials will answer questions from the public about anything ranging from testing to safety to bullying. Four spring semester meetings are planned:

• 6 to 7 p.m. Jan. 15 at Northeast Enterprise Academy for Health Sciences & Engineering, 3100 N Kelley.

• 6 to 7 p.m. Jan. 29 at Rogers Middle School, 4000 N Spencer Road, Spencer.

• 7 to 8 p.m. Feb. 12 at Capitol Hill High School, 500 SW 36.

• 6 to 7 p.m. March 5 at Classen School of Advanced Studies, 1901 N Ellison.

Stillwater teacher receives prize

A Stillwater teacher recently was surprised with a $25,000 Milken Educator Award for excellence in the classroom. Tammera Mittelstet is a gifted resource coordinator at Highland Park and Will Rogers elementary schools. Mittelstet received the award from state schools Superintendent Janet Barresi and Milken Family Foundation board member Thomas Boysen.
