Teacher recruitment fair today

The Oklahoma City Public Schools will host a teacher recruitment fair at 5 p.m. Tuesday at U.S. Grant High School, 5016 S Pennsylvania. Teachers needed for all age groups. Special education teachers are especially needed. The district will do interviews in person and via Skype. Principals from all school sites will be at the event. Officials recommend applicants bring resumes and fill out employment applications online. For more information, go to www.okcps.org.

State PTA hosts day at Capitol

The Oklahoma PTA will host its annual Day at the Capitol on Tuesday. The group plans to introduce a legislative caucus. Activities include training and legislator visits beginning at 9 a.m. A rally is set for 1:30 p.m. on the north steps. Speakers include state schools Superintendent Janet Barresi, lawmakers and education advocates. The event is open to families and residents, and PTA membership is not required.
