TULSA (AP) — Republicans Kevin Calvey and James Lankford have advanced to a runoff election in the race to capture Oklahoma's open 5th congressional district seat.

Democrat Billy Coyle has earned his party's nomination to compete for the open seat in Oklahoma's 5th congressional district.

The Oklahoma City-area seat was vacated by Republican Mary Fallin, who is seeking to become Oklahoma's governor and picked up her party's nomination Tuesday.

The Republican winner will face Coyle and independents Clark Duffe and Dave White in the Nov. 2 general election.
