Oklahoma federal prosecutors and FBI agents are urging Oklahomans to call them or state or local election boards today if they witness any election fraud or voting rights abuses.
"Election fraud and voting rights abuses dilute the worth of votes honestly cast," said Thomas Scott Woodward, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma. "They also corrupt the essence of our representative form of government. As crimes against both the individual and the government, they will be dealt with promptly and aggressively."
Clay Simmonds, spokesman for the Oklahoma City FBI office, said federal law enforcement officials have no reason to anticipate election problems in Oklahoma, but want to be prepared here and in other states.
