Oklahoma Elections: Rep. John Sullivan loses seat to political newcomer Jim Bridenstine

Rep. Sullivan is first Oklahoma incumbent in 18 years to get knocked off; in 2nd District, Democrats Rob Wallace and Wayne Herriman will meet again Aug. 28, while Republicans Markwayne Mullin and George Faught also head for a runoff.

WASHINGTON — Rep. John Sullivan became the first Oklahoma congressman ousted in 18 years Tuesday, as political newcomer Jim Bridenstine staged a Republican primary upset in the Tulsa-area district Sullivan has represented for a decade.
